Three Generations of Towing Excellence

George T. Morgan was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the Milton S. Hershey School in 1957. With a tireless work ethic and a natural aptitude for mechanics, George founded Morgan Towing Service in 1966 on Columbia Avenue in Lancaster, PA.

What began as a one-truck operation grew into one of Lancaster County’s most trusted towing and recovery companies. For 54 years, George was the heart of the business—answering calls at all hours, pulling rigs from ditches in blinding snowstorms, and building a reputation that spread across four counties entirely by word of mouth.

George didn’t just run the business. He shaped the industry. He served on the board of the Pennsylvania Towing Association and earned the respect of operators across the state. But his greatest legacy was closer to home.

When his grandson Michael Morgan Sarver was old enough, George took him under his wing. George showed him every trick he learned over the years—how to read a wreck scene, how to rig a recovery so nothing shifts, how to handle a customer in their worst moment with patience and professionalism. Michael became the “hook up man,” and today he carries every lesson George taught him into every job.

George passed away on March 5, 2020, at the age of 80. He spent more than half a century doing what he loved. His legacy lives on every time a Morgan truck rolls out to help someone in need.
